David's paintings are a modern amalgam of the 19th century's giants of traditional portraiture such as Edwin Henry Landseer, Gustave Courbet, and John Singer Sargent.
David's work is one of painstaking observation and careful rendering which truly captures his subjects. He strikes a successful balance between intricate detail and painterly execution allowing a bit of the artist's hand to be revealed creating accurate likenesses with a natural realism.
